January - April, 2012:

We are starting this year learning about Daniel. Click here for questions to ask your kids about each lesson.

January 8 will teach us that when we face temptation, we don't always think about the harm it will do to us if we give in. Daniel and his friends face some major temptations after being taken captive in Babylon. It would have been very easy for them to give in, but they knew that sin always has a price. The king wanted to change their identity as children of God and make them children of sin.

JANUARY 15 is family Sunday. There is NO elementary Kids Church today.

January 22 will teach us what Daniel and his friends will do in an impossible situation. If they chose to do what the King asked, they have the ability to become right hand men to the King of Babylon. Even when the stakes are high and the lure of compromise is in front of us, we must choose to do what's right. In this lesson, the kids will watch the actions of Daniel and his friends to see exactly who they should respond when the world offers them "reward" for compromising their faith.

January 29 will teach us that pride is a disease. It infects our attitude and causes us to become so full of ourselves, that others can hardly stand to be around us. Pride is shameful to God.

February 5 will teach us to choose our friends carefully. We must keep godly friends around us so they can help us live lives that are sold out to God.

February 12 teaches us that every day we face trials and temptations. Some days, we face situations that are way beyond anything we have ever faced. In those moments, we must rely on the godly character that has been built in our lives over time.

FEBRUARY 19 is family Sunday. There is NO elementary Kids Church today.

February 26 helps us when we face the hard times in life. Many times, we may feel like we are "going through the fire." We feel like we are being burned by the pressures of life. Even though it may seem like we are facing this pressure all by ourselves, we can rest assured that God is there with us every step of the way. We have to remember that He has promised to never leave us or forsake us.

In March and April, the elementary Kid's Church kids will learn how to build a rock solid foundation of faith!

March 4 reminds us there is only ONE WAY to Heaven - forgiveness of sin through Jesus Christ. In today's lesson, the children will learn what it means to be "born again." Salvation is the first brick in building a rock solid foundation of faith.

March 11 teaches us about worship. It is not just a set of slow songs we sing in church. Worship is all about God's children showing their love to their Heavenly Father. It doesn't matter if you choose to stand, sit, lay down, kneel down, close your eyes, or spin around while you worship. The important thing to God is not HOW you worship...it's THAT you worship.

MARCH 18 is family Sunday. There is NO elementary Kids Church today.

March 25 gives us our next brick in building our rock solid faith - prayer. So often children are intimidated by the idea of praying to an Almighty God. They think they don't have the right words to say. Sometimes they even think they are not worthy to talk to God. In this lesson, we will discuss how we can pray with confidence in knowing that God hears us when we pray. Not only does He hear us, but He will answer.

April 1 teaches us the importance of sharing our faith. If we are going to make an eternal impact on this world, we must share with others what God has done in our lives. Because the same God wants to do the the same thing in their lives as He has done in ours. We must understand that it is our job to reach out to those around us who do not know Jesus. We must share God's love with them, praying and believing that they will accept His love and forgiveness just as we have.

APRIL 8 is family Sunday. There is NO elementary Kids Church today. It is Easter Sunday.

April 15 is about the gift of the Holy Spirit. We all love to receive gifts; gifts for our birthday, anniversary, Christmas, or any occasion. Kids especially love to receive gifts. The power of the Holy Spirit is a gift from God that was sent to give us power and boldness to share our faith as we talked about in the last lesson. It is with this power that all Christians can stand up in the midst of a wicked world and speak the Truth in love.

April 22 teaches us that we must make the Bible a part of our daily lives. We must read it, memorize it, study it, but most of all obey it. For so long kids have thought of the Bible as just a book of really good stories. Although there are many wonderful stories in the Bible, it is more than just a storybook. It is a powerful book that can change our lives.
